The music of Ivan Alexander Moscotta intertwines temporal and harmonic structures of fluctuating densities that unfold into delicate sonic trajectories.
Ivan's music has been heard throughout the Midwest, on programs such as Performance and Time Arts, Cincinnati Soundbox, and various concerts at the University of Cincinnati. Commissions include a series solo piano works which he recorded for broadcast on radio station WFMU and pieces for mezzo-soprano Lauren McAllister, pianist Yunlin Guo, and others. Ivan is a frequent collaborator with artists in interdisciplinary mediums. His teachers include Mara Helmuth, Joel Hoffman, and Ellen Ruth Harrison.
Ivan is the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic director of Cincinnati Soundbox, a new music chamber series in Cincinnati that blends the music scene of Cincinnati with those of other cities around the United States. For more information, visit cincinnatisoundbox.org.
